Valestakha is Vellamni's sword, a weapon composed wholly of fire. As a weapon of the Gods it contains vast power, though the extent of this power is said to be based on the strength of its wielder's emotions.

This sword has a powerful connection to Onostothorin, which may be counted in some senses as a lesser reflection of Vellamni's sword.

Vellamni used her sword to blind Sulansis as punishment for the murder of her son.

In many cultures throughout Reshomme, those seeking love or sex may carry out a ritual to symbolically wield Valestakha in order to improve their chances. Such rituals are normally focussed on prayer and symbolic actions rather than real magic, and frequently call for a brand or new-forged sword to be held while visiting a potential lover.

It is believed that amongst Valestakha's abilities is the power to sever old ties that limit one's behaviour and hold one back; allowing action free of restraint from which new bonds may be formed.
