Located near Makar in Karantas, Hightemple is one of the oldest known Amethyar settlements as well as a gigantic temple of Alas. In addition it served as the nation's religious capital and centre of government throughout the rule of the Cult of Alas.
Both Starenkeen and the Angel of Alas have strong connections to Hightemple; the Angel of Alas has appeared there many times and it was there that she killed the mortal Starenkeen, so prompting his own angelic ascension.
Recently the two angels battled there again and the Angel of Alas was slain. She seems to have planned for this event however, as her death triggered the manifestation of a 2000-foot-tall black citadel, killing Starenkeen and apparently destroying or absorbing Hightemple itself.
