Ability Type: Spell, Difficulty 14
Provided By: Common Aquakinetics

Spell Type: Elemental, Water
Form: Contained (protection vs cold, etc.)/Static (ice in caster's wake)
Function: Movement, Utility
Power Cost: Minimal
Duration: Maintainable
Notes: Reflex

Of inestimable worth in arctic environments, Frozen Path attunes its caster to the frozen aspects of water, helping him to remain standing when on ice or snow, assisting him when climbing frozen surfaces and allowing him to walk on water by manifesting ice beneath his feet. In addition the spell bolsters its caster's Physique against the effects of cold (including Cold Damage).

While under the effects of the spell, thick ice will manifest beneath the caster wherever he goes (including under his hands if he should crawl, under his face if he falls flat, etc.) This is especially useful on water, where the ice magically floats and provides a stable surface beneath him no matter what he does. If the caster wishes, the ice will remain behind him for a few turns after he moves on (with duration related to the spell's Power) enabling others to (carefully) cross stretches of water behind him, or in order to give pursuers unstable footing on land.

Water Walking Effect: Can move on water as though it were a solid surface
Ice Attunement Effect: Negates any Athletics penalties due to icy footing
Athletics: Climbing Bonus (on ice or snow-covered surfaces): +3
Physique Bonus vs Cold (including Cold damage): +20% (round up)
Maximum Ice-Trail Duration: 0 (Minimal), or 1 round x Power

This spell is now depreciated, because it was simply not useful enough. Some of its functionality has now been hived off into Ice Armour.
