"Law and chaos as absolutes are little more than excuses for the boring and the brutish to do as they will."

Morivar, Visions of the Black Unicorn

Morivar was once the herald of Menkharra, a true Angel who had accompanied his master throughout the Gods' War. After the death of Menkharra, Grendarra, Hollus and Schiraman raised Morivar to Godhood, at the urging of Solandria. In modern times he is most often known as the Divine Messenger, or God of Communication.

As a rule, Morivar strives to remain neutral in the struggles of both gods and mortals - seeking to act as a messenger and intermediary rather than a warrior. He believes that the truth is sacred, and seeks to ensure that it always wins out - no matter its immediate effects.

While many theologians are quick to call out the similarities in doctrine between Morivar and the true angel Iasakell, and point to ancient legends that suggest the two have a long shared history, most believe that they are now estranged - with Iasakell's long and bloody crusade against Chaos most often cited as the cause.

Morivar is most often pictured by his worshippers as either a white fox or a black unicorn - as these are the forms he uses to visits the dreams and visions of mortals. As a fox he is said to bring gentle dreams and reassurance to those who are afraid, while as a unicorn he brings bad news, unwelcome truths or frightening visions of possible futures. On the rare occasions he is depicted in human form, he is often pictured as an Eldren or Sulaim youth, clad in black and white plate armour and carrying the banner of Menkharra in one hand and a horn in the other.

His followers adhere to the Code of Morivar.
