Operating in much the same fashion as Masking Ward, Partial Invisibility bends light around its caster, making him difficult to see – especially at a distance or in poor lighting. As with Masking Ward it also provides moderate protection from bright flashes or Light Damage. Because the caster's exact form is difficult to make out the spell also penalises attempts to hit him and makes him harder to identify.

The listed Visual Awareness Penalty is applied to potential observers within Close Viewing Range. At Medium Viewing Range, the bonus is doubled, at Long Viewing Range it is quadrupled. In addition, the bonus is doubled again if caster in in an area that has at least a -4 Darkness Penalty affecting it.
