The powerful defensive barrier generated by Bright Ward is highly valued by many battlemages. The shield can defend a group, is effective against both Physical and Energy Damage and, perhaps most importantly, only prevents incoming damage – allowing the defenders to fire back freely.

In addition to protecting against damage, Bright Ward also impedes passage into the defended area, halving the Movement of anyone who tries. Bright Ward does nothing to prevent damage that occurs entirely within its confines however, so once it is physically breached it is essentially useless.
