The Ara Hills lie at the western end of the Yvha Mountains, near to the Aethrayn Chain. They are generally considered to mark the western extreme of the Treyenar state of Yhntal.

Perhaps because of the relative proximity of the Aethrayn Chain the hills are a barren and desolate place, but are rarely troubled by the forces of Chaos. Although the Treyenar maintain a number of small border-forts in the region, it is generally considered a quiet posting.
