By shifting its caster's perceptions partially onto the Elemental Plane of Air, this spell grants him incredible sensitivity to displacement of air – allowing him to detect movement nearby. While the spell remains in effect this motion-sense replaces the caster's normal vision, allowing him to 'see' motion in all directions - even through obstructions and around corners.

Although Air Sense is excellent at spotting movement, it struggles to detect stationary objects and cannot resolve fine details. Thus while it is generally easy enough to tell whether a source of movement is a cat or a humanoid figure, it may not be possible to determine their exact identity and the very high resolution required for tasks such as reading text is essentially impossible.

Air Sense functions as a kind of super-hearing and only functions where there is air to transmit vibrations, it is unaffected by bonuses or penalties to vision, but is affected by modifiers to hearing.
