This spell allows its caster to summon and control water currents in an area around him, either altering existing currents or creating a current where previously the water was still. The degree to which water currents can be altered depends on the power invested in the spell, with the maximum change in current direction proportionate to its percentage change in speed. That is, a current of 4 m/s that is increased by the spell to 6 m/s or reduced to 2 m/s can also have it's direction altered by 90° (I.e. 50% change in both intensity and direction), while if the current were doubled in speed it could be made to flow in any direction desired.

Drastic alterations to strong currents may lead to dramatic effects at the edge of the spell effect, where two volumes of water travellings in different directions crash into one another. A mage wishing to create such an effect, or who aims to avoid such stormy seas, may require additional Spellcasting checks to retain control of the flow of water.
