Yhntal

Yhntal is the name given by the Treyenar to the lands they occupy in the northern region of Varys, or more precisely the core-fragment of that plane. The region is too cold to be comfortably settled by the Humans who inhabit much of the rest of the plane, although the Treyenar are well-suited to such conditions. As a result, Yhntal has seen less fighting than most of Varys, although it has still suffered greatly from the many disasters that have beset the plane - most recently The Blaze which yearly consumes more of the land, driving the Treyenar slowly southwards.

The Treyanar have only two cities remaining in the region, Artann'Yhn and Marran'Yhn, although many smaller settlements lay scattered throughout the surrounding area. Of the two, Artann'Yhn is by far the larger and more important, with Marran'Yhn little more than a large and heavily fortified town rather than a true city.

It is believed that the Treyenar once had substantial holdings in the lands west of the Ara Hills but, if so, these territories have long-since been swallowed either by The Blaze or by Carhadhaen.

Yhntal lies north of the Yvha Mountains, between the Aethrayn Chain and the northern extreme of the Stone Flow.
