This Skill covers actively sneaking or hiding, as well as more subtle ways of staying out of sight - such as casually blending in with crowds. It can also be used to conceal objects about your person, or to hide objects or other people in general. A successful Stealth check might also indicate likely hiding places nearby - perhaps helping you to find someone else who is hiding from you, although actually sensing that there is someone there is a matter for Awareness.
It is also worth noting that your ability to successfully hide in any given environment is heavily dependant on your familiarity with locations of that kind - requiring the Urban Stealth Ability when in a building or settlement and the appropriate form of Basic Survival when in the wilderness.
