Stances provide a character with one or more passive bonuses, and often one or more balancing penalties, so long as the character remains in that Stance. Adopting a Stance does not require an action, but a character may only adopt or change Stance at the start of their own turn (this includes dropping their current Stance to return to normal) and only one of the character's Stances can be active at any given time.
