This ability represents your familiarity with the rules of polite society within a given culture. Those without this ability are doomed to embarrass themselves by using the wrong fork to eat their salad and dancing their jigs all backwards, thus applying a -3 penalty to all Social Skills checks made for interacting with polite company.

Characters must purchase a separate version of the Social Graces Ability for every culture with which they wish to be familiar. Having any version of Social Graces is better than nothing however, since there are often common themes and many cultures will be willing to accept visitors adhering to their own rules - so long as they don't appear wholly discourteous or ridiculous.
