This relatively subtle form of shape-shifting magic alters various aspects of its caster's appearance, either for cosmetic reasons or in order to disguise them. Changes to skin, hair or eye colour, or hair length and style, are easily achieved with the spell, and moderate changes to body shape, height, width or even facial features are also possible – though at the cost of increasing casting difficulty. Sculpted Appearance does not allow large-scale changes to its caster's body however and cannot be used to manifest new Features (such as claws or wings) or change the caster's sex or weight.

Maximum changes in height or width are limited to 10% shifts either way, unless accompanied by a balancing shift in the other dimension (I.e. Becoming taller and thinner, or shorter and fatter), in which case up to a 20% shift in both is allowed. Changing facial features or sculpting body shape increase the difficulty of the spell by 2 each, with an extra +2 if either height or width is changed by more than 5% and, if the caster wishes to make themselves better looking, an additional +2 per level of Attractiveness gained.

Finally Sculpted Appearance can attempt to mimic the appearance of a specific individual if provided with a Mentalic Impression of them, in which case all the above difficulty modifiers that are necessary to achieve this are applied – with an additional +2 modifier due to the precision required. Such disguises will generally be much more effective if the caster is naturally similar in height and weight to the target individual, and obviously are likely to fail if they are very different – especially if the target is not the same sex.
