Sassakk

Sassakk, or Desert Lizardmen, are much larger and stronger than any Human, growing as much as 10 foot tall and having a powerful, muscular frame. With extremely tough, scaly skin and a predatory jawline filled with sharp teeth, Sassakk make fearsome warriors and are terrfying when angered. Sassakk also have a long tail, used mainly for balance.

Despite appearances however, Sassakk are highly intelligent and very civilised beings who are happy to trade with Humans and even, on occasion, to live side by side with them. Overall Sassakk tend to be slightly slower-thinking and less empathic than most Humans but they are no more aggressive by inclination.

Like all Asvaeric Lizardmen, Sassakk are incapable of channelling magical Power which puts them at a severe disadvanatge when compared to most other races.

Sassakk seem to have little in common with the more primitive Lorakk and Rastinn breeds of Asvaeric Lizardmen, although there is some evidence of ancient cooperation between Sassakk and Dessakk when the Dessakk still journeyed to the Core Plane.

Sassakk are common in Northern Pyreneth and in the Dragon Desert in Amethgare, although they are not a very populous race by Human standards.

Although capable of Human speach, native Sassakk language is mainly dependant on posture, expression and various signs and gestures. Tail motions are a vital part of Sassakk body-language, making it hard for species without tails to fully understand them.

Sassakk scales range in colour from pale green to a sandy yellow or brown.
