Your martial arts training has taught you to use a fast jab to probe your opponent's defences and knock them off-balance, before coming in quickly with a second blow to deal some real damage. Using this combo, if you hit with an initial Jab you may quickly follow up (in the same turn) with a second punch (of any type) using your other fist. This follow-up punch suffers from the normal penalty for making multiple attacks (a cumulative -3 per extra attack, by default) but the initial jab is not penalised.
