The Elemental Guardians were four extremely powerful Dragons who acted as the generals of Mithrilanda's armies during the Third, Fourth and Fifth Ages.
Each of the four held a sacred artefact, known as the Four Stars, aligned with one of the four primary elements - Fire, Air, Water and Earth.
During the Sixth Age the wars in the Fringes and the Central Planes died down as the Dunoln Empire began to stabilise much of Reshomme under its control and Mithrilanda's armies were disbanded. Many of the remaining dragons, including the Guardians, vanished around this time.
The four Guardians were:
Astenoreth, Dragon of the Sacred Flame
Syntaereth, Dragon of the Sacred Storm
Galtandeth, Dragon of the Sacred Stone
Laendareth, Dragon of the Sacred Pool
