One of the most famous, and most often dramatised, forms of essence magic, Last Gasp allows its caster to briefly stave off death, giving him a chance to perform one last action – perhaps even saving himself in the process. Last Gasp can only be cast by a character who has failed a Death Save but passed the corresponding Stun Save. If the spell succeeds it extends its caster life until the end of his next turn, allowing him to make one final action before death – which can include casting Spark of Life on himself, if he's feeling particularly cocky.

In order to make sure that his last action still counts for something, Last Gasp also induces a powerful rush of endorphins – allowing its caster to completely ignore both Wound Penalties and Shock on his bonus turn.

Effect: Grants one final, unpenalised action to its caster before death takes him

This spell is now depreciated, having been combined into Life Binding.
