Perhaps the most powerful of the twelve Mantonian Royal Orders; the Lion follow Schiraman, the God of Law. As befits their patron deity, the Lion place special emphasis on efforts to combat crime and treachery within Mantoni. They are strongly allied with Hawk and the Unicorn, but are often at odds with those orders who prefer to employ stealth and subtlety - such as the Viper.
Unlike many other orders, the Lion maintain extremely strong ties with followers of their God throughout Amethgare, and often dispatch their warriors to assist in law-enforcement in allied nations; especially Antalon, Berellion and the Fortress States. Not only does this system help to strengthen ties between Mantoni and its allies, this also gives the Lion a great deal of information and influence that it can use to its advantage - and helps ensure that the Lion is perceived as the leading order by other nations.
In wartime the Lion specialises in heavy infantry and its troops often form the heart of Mantonian assaults against enemy strongholds. In addition they are sometimes able to call in favours with their brethren orders in allied nations and field other Schiraman-worshipping troops alongside their own - such as the Antalonian Lawkeepers or the Avatar of Schiraman, Lady Faelenkeen.
