Originally owned by the creator Menkharra, he used the Banesword to cut himself and created the Amma from the blood that it spilt. At the end of the Second Age the Amma rebelled and used the blade to kill him. Subsequently Alas claimed it from them and used it to kill all the Amma and destroy everything they had ever created.
The Banesword is often called the Banesword of Alas and in modern times is considered sacred to her. The current location of the Banesword is unknown, although the Knights of the Silver Cross have their suspicions.
The Banesword is normally depicted as a great, black sword covered in runes. It is believed to change its shape to suit the preferred weapon of its wielder and can confer great power upon its user.
