A term originally coined during the height of the Dantonian Empire to describe the Empire's Southern colonies and client states. During the Wars of Strife many of those states were destroyed by Sulansis' Army of Darkness and when the tide of the war turned the nations that were rebuilt from the ashes inherited the title.

Because of their 'birth from fire' the New Kingdoms tend to be extremely proud of their Dantonian heritage and often boast strong martial traditions. These nations are also inclined to forget any internal squabbles when faced by an external threat, and often work together as allies in such circumstances.

Isontar is generally considered to be the heart of the New Kingdoms, and its nominal 'leader' and Isontar Common is spoken throughout these lands in addition to each country's native tongue. The people of the region are mostly of Kamathar stock, though there are also many Kamarain and Eldren.

The New Kingdoms are Isontar, Mantoni, Estalon and the Fortress States.

The New Kingdoms are one of the three great powers of Amethgare, the others being Saralot and Thalas.
