The wall created by this spell is an intangible, two-dimensional field that absorbs light falling on it from either side – making it difficult to see anything on the far side and weakening any [[Light Damage]] attacks that pass through it. In addition the malign nature of elemental Darkness causes the field to inflict [[Shock]] on anyone passing through it.<br />
<br />
In a well-lit environment, the light-drinking effect of a Wall of Darkness makes its presence fairly obvious, but in an area that is already dark the spell can be extremely difficult to spot – making it an ideal trap for the unwary. Walls of Darkness are normally square or rectangular, but can be of any simple shape their caster wishes – so long as they remain completely flat and are within the dimensions described.<br />
