Able to sense the faint traces left in the [[Astral Plane]] by a sentient mind, Trail of Thought can allow its caster to follow a target known by [[Mentalic Impression]] or marked by an [[Astral Tag]] – even if the physical trail is almost non-existent. <br />
<br />
The strength of trail left by a given mind is greater if they were marked by an Astral Tag at the time, but the spell can still track them past the point where that tag fades or is destroyed so long as its caster retains a Mentalic Impression of them.<br />

In addition to providing a bonus to [[Awareness]]: [[Tracking]] [[Skill Check|checks]], Trail of Thought also slightly reduces the penalty to checks of this kind applied to those without the Tracking ability – though both bonus and penalty-reduction are applied only to attempts to track the target individual.<br />
