Often used by healers when they must perform some form of minor surgery on a patient, Soothing Touch dampens pain and heals [[Shock[[ for as long as its caster remains in physical contact with its target.<br />
<br />
If new Shock is suffered by someone under the effect of the song then the spell will first try to cancel this before it ever affects them, if it has more Shock-healing effect than is required for this task it will then go on to heal existing Shock with the remainder of its power. <br />
<br />
While affected by Soothing Touch a character's total effective [[Wound Penalty]] is halved for purposes of everything except [[Trauma Check]]s (which they receive a straight +1 bonus to instead), although there is no permanent effect on the underlying injuries.<br />
