Rather than exposing a patient to the crudities of conventional surgery, this spell allows a true healer to excise foreign matter or diseased tissue from a patient by simply provoking their own body to reject it – while simultaneously using life energy to minimise the damage this causes.

Successfully casting Excision does not guarantee that the surgery itself is successful; instead when performing surgery using the spell its Surgery Total is used in place of the normal [[First Aid]] [[Skill Check|Check]] to determine success or failure. Whether or not the sugery is successful however, Excision provokes only half the damage that would be normal for the procedure. Excision is particularly useful for removing [[Embedded]] projectiles, in order to facilitate proper healing.

Injury Inflicted: Half the normal amount provoked by this form of surgery.
