The core art of Basic Gate Magic, Conjure Lesser Gate forms a relatively weak connection between two existing [[Astral Beacon]]s, allowing teleportation to occur either way between these two points for as long as the gate is maintained. The gate created appears as a faint shimmer in the air, and provides no indication of its destination.

A Lesser Gate may transport any spirit, creature (along with their clothing and equipment) or enchanted item, but only one of the above can be transported per turn. In cases where an enchanted item contains one or more creatures, where a creature is wearing or carrying an enchanted item, or in similar situations this limit may be exceeded.

Anything teleported by the gate is transferred on its caster's turn, and its caster chooses what the gate will and will not transport and in what order. Only things in close proximity to one or other end of the gate (i.e. Wholly or partially within the Affected Volume surrounding either end-point) can be transported.
