Wars of Strife

A series of terrible wars that took place during and after the fall of Danton in the Seventh Age. These wars decimated much of Thalas and the New Kingdoms as Sulansis' Army of Darkness embarked on a series of long and bloody campaigns, notable for the many atrocities committed by both sides.

Rather than a desire for conquest the Wars of Strife appear to have been motivated by sheer hatred, with civilians on both sides slaughtered and whole kingdoms razed to the ground.

It is unclear for exactly how long this period of near-constant warfare persisted and histories of this age or earlier are unreliable at best. It is generally agreed that the turning point in the conflict was the Battle of the Stars at Heldmar where the Nelonian armies were broken by an alliance of New Kingdoms troops and Dantonian exiles wielding the Gems of Magnas.
