"She fell then unto despair, realising that she was not just lost - but that she had lost herself. And yet, by that lonely shore, she felt something touch her soul and knew that she was not alone."

Taikala is an Angel in the service of Taramis, she is most often known as the Angel of The Lost.

Originally a Chaos demi-god who helped lead the invasion of Reshomme during the Great Breach, Taikala is known to have battled various champions of Schiraman in the Fringes during the Fifth Age. Eventually defeated by the Angel Jurakell she was driven into hiding on the Central Planes.

Eventually Jurakell tracked her to the court of Yndataraen, Dragon of the Sun and it was this that led to the discovery of Yndataraen's corruption. After the fall of DanTarAen the Dragons loyal to Mithrilanda spared Taikala's life - sensing a kindred soul of sorts and in time she was taken on by the Goddess herself as an apprentice - becoming an Angel in her service.

When Mithrilanda was 'killed' by Sulansis, Taikala's history was lost along with all memories of the Goddess and she was fated to wander Teth alone, knowing not even her own name. At this time she was called The Lost Angel.

In time, Taramis learned of this strange wanderer, and he took pity on her - granting her his patronage and helping to restore to her some sense of her own identity - although her origins remained mysterious. Acting in his service she now takes on the role of companion to those who are lost, either physically or within themselves.

With the restoration of Mithrilanda, Taikala's memories have now returned. For now she still serves Taramis, but some speculate that she may yet return to her place by the side of the Goddess of Magic.

Taikala rarely manifests physically, preferring to keep to herself and to give the subtlest of help and support to those she aids. At various times in her life she is said to have taken different forms, though in all guises her eyes are a swirl of many colours. Her followers bear a representation of this as their symbol, calling it simply The Many-Coloured Eye.

Worshippers of Taikala are fairly rare, and are generally quite solitary rather than developing organised cults. Such devotees normally wander the world, seeking to help those who are lost or forgotten.
