By casting this spell a mage learned in Spirit Binding can engage in two-way mind-to-mind conversation with a nearby Spirit, eliminating the need for a common language. In order to successfully target a spirit the caster must either be able to see it (normally using Spirit Sight, or some similar magic) or he must have previously gathered a Spiritual Impression of it. In addition to its communication effect, Spirit Speech itself also gathers a Spiritual Impression of its target in order to enable repeat contact.
