This appealing spell takes the form of an arcane song that fills all who hear it, except the caster himself, with a sense of calm that magically dampens pain and heals Shock.

If new Shock is suffered by someone under the effect of the song then the spell will first try to cancel this before it ever affects them, if it has more Shock-healing effect than is required for this task it will then go on to heal existing Shock with the remainder of its power.

While affected by Soothing Song a character's total effective Wound Penalty is halved for purposes of everything except Trauma Checks (which they receive a straight +1 bonus to instead), although there is no permanent effect on the underlying injuries.
