Penitence

This long and difficult divine ritual allows an acolyte who has fallen out of favour with his chosen patron to seek forgiveness and ask for guidance on how he may begin to repair the breach. If the ritual is successful the penitent receives a vision that will show him where he has gone wrong and suggest how he can gain favour in the future. In some cases this guidance may outline general changes in behaviour, or specifics acts to be carried out or avoided; but on occasion it may lay out a particular task or quest that the penitent must carry out before favour can be restored.

Penitence can only be performed by a devotee whose Divine Favour is at 30% or less, with a successful performance of the ritual adding up to 20% to their Divine Favour (although this is far from guaranteed). It takes 6 hours to perform Penitence correctly.
