In order to maximise crop yields, especially in dry climates or when the weather is unpredictable, you have learnt how to channel water from local water sources, such as streams or wells, to irrigate your crops. Good irrigation requires a knowledge not only of farming but also of construction - in order to build things such as water channels, aqueducts and pumps.

Characters without this ability suffer a -3 penalty to Farming & Herding: Agriculture checks to plan irrigation schemes or Crafting: Construction checks to construct the necessary infrastructure.
