Ildarine

Known as the Golden City, Ildarine is a large and prosperous Valdarite city at the eastern edge of the Golden Coast, just to the north of the Plains of Silver.

Though originally an offshoot of the warlike nation of Valdarine, Ildarine has a long history of careful diplomacy - taking great pains to remain at peace with its neighbours, and relying on commerce rather than conquest to bring it wealth and power. Having remained neutral in the many wars that consumed the states of Jyrantaal, Oraea and Valdarine, Ildarine has outlived them all - and thanks to the continued prosperity of the Plains of Silver it is a significant exporter of food to both the Crescent States and the Kelrithine Federation through its ports on the Golden Coast.

Ildarine's peace, stability and fabled wealth have conspired to make the city a beautiful but decadent place - noted for its ever-shifting fashions and taste in exotic arts. Its social structures are complex and shifting also, and though outright warfare is unheard of, political intrigue, organised crime and even assassination are considered simply parts of everyday life.
