Often used in conjunction with Mist Step, Freezing Mists summons forth a shifting blanket of mist that dampens sound, obscures vision and can chill those who stray into it. The caster's own senses are unaffected by the spell, he is immune to the damage it causes and he can grant safe passage through the mist to allies at will – or prevent it from inflicting any damage at all if he wishes. Additionally, he can control the mist's movement, causing it to slowly drift in a chosen direction – although it cannot wholly defy gravity and so must hug the ground or water over which it passes.
