This great fortress once lay a short distance outside of the city of Danton. Although a mighty citadel in its own right, the Silver Cross' main purpose was as a meeting place for the many armies of Danton and its allies.

In the centre of the fortress lay a huge parade ground divided into four quarters by a great silver path, this crossroad was linked to the four main gates of the fortress and from there to the two great roads that linked Danton from North to South and East to West. It was said that the Silver Cross was the very centre of Danton, where all its defenders could be gathered in time of need.

In later years many small outposts were built throughout the borderlands of Danton and its allies, used as rallying points for their armies when war came, these also had a silver cross at their centre. Banners marked with the Silver Cross were flown from such meeting points and combined armies sometimes carried a Silver Cross along side their own banners to show that they fought as one.

The Fortress of the Silver Cross was finally destroyed when Danton was overwhelmed by the Army of Darkness and it is said that the largest battles fought during the Wars of Strife were those that surged around the great citadel while the people of Danton fled to sanctuary in the lands of the South.

In modern times the Silver Cross marks the central meeting room of the Mantonian Noble Council and the council's chosen warriors are called the Knights of the Silver Cross.
