Fields of Honour

Small, artificial battle-fields marked out at various locations on the Plane of Delvhasis. The Fields of Honour are used by the Delvhian Princes, or sometimes by less significant merchant lords, to settle their frequent disputes. All involved parties field a small army (following certain guidelines) to a given battlefield and the army that is most successful in achieving the objectives set out for the conflict secures victory for its sponsor on the debated topic.

Each Field of Honour is designed with a certain theme, such as siege warfare or naval battles, and is composed of a carefully chosen area of land or sea complete with fortifications and sometimes even mock villages or towns. On a handful of occasions these settlements have been stocked with inhabitants in the form of indentured workers to increase the realism of the battles fought over them, but this practice was swiftly concluded to be barbaric and is currently outlawed by the Council of Princes.
