Endaraen
Endaraen is a unusually large and varied Plane on the Fringes. Sometimes called 'the patchwork plane', Endaraen is known for its compact yet highly diverse landscapes and cultures - with borders often defined by a sudden transition from one biome to another.
Many attribute its strange nature to the warping effects of the Great Breach, which struck the plane during the Fifth Age, although others assert that it has always been this way and that the breach had little, if any impact. What is certainly true is that the wars between Law and Chaos that followed the breach did reach Endaraen, though the battles bought there were relatively minor and peripheral to the main campaigns.
After Schiraman returned and order was restored, life on Endaraen returned to something like normal - but during the Sixth Age Jurakell unexpectedly visited the plane in person and pronounced it to be irrevocably tainted by the effects of the Wild Sea. At that time the plane was partially sealed away from the rest of Reshomme, meaning that travel off-plane is limited to a group of similarly condemned fringe-planes.
Although once known as a great stronghold of the Dunoln, the empire withdrew shortly before Jurakell's pronouncement - leaving the cities and artefacts that remained in the hands of a rear-guard of servitors. Legends refer to a number of Dunoln cities, including Yanlyrleas, Nayrilleas and Olnaleas, though all have either been lost or destroyed in the centuries since their abandonment.
During the Seventh Age the plane suffered from a series of devastating wars and natural disasters and ever since, it has been common for cultures on the plane to adopt a bleak and fatalistic tone - with the plane's likely dissolution into the raw Chaos of the Wild Sea a popular theme. Though this process is a slow one, the plane remains in constant flux and few doubt that its final end must be soon. Apocalyptic cults, such as the Chorus of Remembrance are widespread and powerful - as are sects dedicated specifically to Law or Chaos - such as the Lords of the Golden Spire or Fate's Welcome Embrace.
