Eighth Age

The start of this Age was marked by the return of Schiraman and Hellani from their journey through the Wild Sea, and on Teth by the declaration of the great hero Morgan Kell. As a period, the Eighth Age is characterised by a rise of powerful heroes from among the mortal races who fought to reverse the horrors unleashed by the Age of Strife and restore the wonders of the Age of Hope.

Although it is believed that Schiraman and Hellani did much to support this trend, along with the embattled Solandria, the heroes of the Eighth Age differ from those of the Sixth principally in the fact that they sought to build a world for their fellows, working on their own initiative - rather than following plans passed down directly from the Gods. For this reason, the Eighth Age is often known as the Age of Heroes.

Towards the end of the age, heroes on Amethgare awoke the Dragon Benethyarr, and later the Mother of Dragons Mithrilanda, long forgotten by the world after her 'death' at the hands of Sulansis. Her return, and their defeat of Sulansis, marked the last great milestone of this Age - finally reversing the losses of the Wars of Strife and breaking the hold of Sulansis upon the Sulaim people.

Even after this great victory however, war on Amethgare continued to rage between Mantoni and its allies and the ancient nation of Karantas - bastion of the Angel of Alas. Although Mantoni was finally victorious, and the Angel of Alas was slain by Starenkeen, this heralded the appearance of the Black Citadel and a renewed quest by her followers for the Banesword. Fearing that she might claim it at last, the spirit of Morgan Kell took on physical form once more and carried it away from the Core Plane - an act that is generally considered to mark the end of the Age.

Throughout this age the results of Schiraman's voyage remained unknown, as he vowed to restore order to Reshomme before revealing his findings.
