Dunoln Empire

The mysterious Dunoln once controlled a great empire that crossed thousands of planes within Reshomme. Their many cities were all unique, each one featuring many wonders and great magics - not least the servants who maintained them. These servants were most often living beings somehow fused with magical items that granted them superhuman abilities and a kind of hive-mind with their home city.

Events on the Core Plane tend to cause 'ripples' throughout Reshomme; with events on the lesser planes mirroring those of the core. The Wars of Strife and the fall of Danton in particular caused untold destruction throughout the planes - including the fall of the Dunoln Empire. Thousands of separate disasters struck the empire at once, engulfing every Dunoln city in chaos and leaving each one isolated and powerless to assist its fellows.

Only one Dunoln city is known to have survive this cataclysm; the great city Karonleas. It is thought that the city's link to the God Taramis is probably the cause of its fortune.

Although the Dunoln Empire traded with several cultures on the Core Plane the Dunoln never established any colonies there. The root of their aversion to the Core is not well understood though sages speculate that their unique magics did not function there for some reason.
