Instead when Vellamni appeared she immediatley realised that her beloved son, Solandria's husband, was dead and that Sulansis was responsible. Vellamni burnt out Sulansis' eyes with her [[Vellamni's Sword|sword of fire]] and cast her into the [[Outermost Darkness]].

Somehow thought Sulansis survived and during the [[Seventh Age]] she reapeared, now a Goddess in her own right. Soon afterwards she engineered the destruction of the [[Solinast]], struck down [[Mithrilanda]] with the [[Dragonclaw Spear]] and conquered [[Danton]] with her [[Army of Darkness]].

When [[Menkharra]] was murdered by the [[Amma]] Alas went insane and killed all of the [[Amma]] using the [[Banesword]]. Since then the [[Banesword]] has been considered sacred to her.

The tears that followed her rage are said to have formed the rivers and oceans of the world and together with [[Menkharra|Menkharra's]] blood brought forth the chaotic life that eventually gave rise to [[Humanity]].

Alas is a powerful but distant [[God]]; there are many cults dedicated to her throughout [[Reshomme]] but she seems to take little interest in their activities - beyond rewarding acts of vengeance with [[Power]].

Her home [[Plane]] is the [[Kerai Valley]], one of the [[Heavens]].

Neth Be’Yan

The Neth Be’Yan, or Great Northern [[Drake]], is found all along the North coast of [[Amethgare]], and has been sighted as far South as [[Ylaris]].

Neth Be’Yan are very large drakes, flightless and quite dangerous predators.

Great Northern Drakes have a very strong mating bond, they normally mate and pair for life and generally hunt as a pair – unless one of the pair is guarding eggs.

As with most drakes, Neth Be’Yan are happy to scavenge food, but they are also capable of bringing down reasonably large prey with their large, strong jaws.

Neth Be’Yan grow as long as two metres from nose to tail and tend to have striped or patterned colouration featuring greys, browns, black and white.

Generally known as 'Orcs', the Lokkran are the ancient enemies of [[Humanity]] and seem to have warred and lost with Humans on almost every continent of [[Teth]]. On [[Amethgare]] the Lokkran fought the [[Amethyar]] in both the [[Dawn Wars]] and the [[Wars of Strife]].

Different breeds of Lokkran vary considerably in outlook and mental capability but all are physically somewhat larger than most Humans, with a broad, flat face, large teeth and greyish skin covered in fine, almost invisible, fur.

The three breeds of Lokkran are the [[Akaim]], [[Okkra]] and [[Kaerkim]]. Although lacking the diversity of Humanity, Lokkran are just as widespread - and are found almost everywhere on Teth. Their constant warring with Humanity has taken a terrible toll on their numbers however and they are often reduced to hiding from their ancient foes.

In contrast with their [[Gethen Brae|yellow cousins]], the Gethan Lare or Red Desert [[Drake]] is a clumsy flyer at best and is larger than most Drakes – second only in size to the [[Neth Be’Yan|Great Northern Drake]].

Gethan Lare are keener predators than most Drakes, rarely scavenging and capable of bringing down relatively large prey.

Although capable of flight, the Gethan Lare normally only takes to the air to reach ambush position in trees or on other vantage points and never uses its wings in pursuit of quarry.

Gethan Lare range in colour from a deep orangey brown to a rich sunset red; typically they show their brightest colours only during the mating season when bright red females call out from low branches or ridges to attract mates. The average length of a Gethan Lare is around one metre from nose to tail.

Lucian Albrecht is an archetypal honourable [[Mantoni|Mantonian]] warrior™. His interest in history borders on the obsessive. He declares his atheism in the face of [[God]]s, and thus can be regarded as somewhat self-destructive. Other indicators of psychological instability include a tendancy to taunt people who are breaking his fingers; entering combats when already heavily wounded, carrying a sword that, frankly, is [[Onostothorin|quite the most disturbing piece of personal armament]] I have seen in my entire professional career. Lucian should be sectioned immediately.

Lucian's relationship with his magic sword has been strained further by using it to power an [[Great Seal of Aethleas|ancient seal]] and then going off to battle with another [[Aethleas Sword|sword]].

Lucian is also mildly peeved by the fact that his is now decisively [[Mantonian Rank System|outranked]] by everyone in his party.

Lucian is a Warrior Adventurer, who it presently serving with the [[Knights of the Silver Cross]]. == Biography ==
Lucian Albrecht was born in the small fishing and farming community of [[Merrish]], on the west coast of [[Mantoni]]. He attended the school run there by the [[Royal Order of the Bear]], but was eventually accepted by the [[Royal Order of the Dragon]], an impressive feat for a commoner. (His parents run a large apple and pork farm).

He excelled in two-handed sword training at the [[Citadel of the Silver Dragon]] and, upon promotion to the rank of Warrior, was assigned to the [[Red Dragon]] cavalry sect, with whom he saw action on the front with [[Karantas]]. His assignment to the KotSC was unexpected, but he has performed well enough to achieve promotion to the [[Dragon Guard]].

He remains an expert swordsman, presently wielding an [[Aethleas Sword]], although he is the designated bearer of the blade [[Onostrothorin]], currently powering the [[Great Seal of Aethleas]]. In addition, he is a skilled tactician and strategist.

His hobbies include historical research, archaeology, and philosophy. He is a terrible liar. He has one sibling, [[Catharine Albrecht|Catharine]], who is a member of the [[Royal Order of the Unicorn]].

The name 'Lucian' is the masculine form of the name of the [[God]]dess of Luck, [[Lucia]]. The wisdom of naming one's child this is very much a matter for debate.

Great Seal of Aethleas

A massive magical barrier errected in caves beneath the ruins of [[Aethleas]], the Seal prevents the [[Chaos]] trapped beneath it from spreading into the rest of the [[Plane]] or the [[Plane]]s beyond.

Also trapped beneath the Seal are the survivors of the great war that destroyed [[Aethleas]], although they are presumibly corrupted by the [[Chaos]] that has infected their home.

The Seal is maintained and guarded by a race of mechanical soliders, once weapons used in the apocalyptic war that destroyed Aethleas but subsequently reprogrammed by a questing [[Warrior Adventurer]] from [[Mantoni]].

The Great Seal was originally powered by the [[Starshield Helm]], but when that was reclaimed by the [[Knights of the Silver Cross]] they left the artefact-sword [[Onostothorin]] in its place.

The [[Knights of the Silver Cross]] were also given a number of magical weapons by the Seal's guardians - these [[Aethleas Sword]]s and [[Aethleas Bow]]s are also relics of the war and are quite powerful items.

During a recent dream Lucian was informed that there are three other elemental blades, kin to Onostothorin - including the ice-blade [[Elvondorjust]], which was stolen from the surviving Torathra by [[Anassalla]].

If any Torathra still live, it seems likely that they dwell somewhere on the mysterious island of [[Torathai]].

Also known as Dantoni, the Empire of Danton or the Dantonian Empire. Danton lay in the centre of [[Amethgare]] and was a blessed land; rich, green and fertile.

Danton was established at the end of the [[Dawn Wars]] by a great general of [[Humanity]] of the same name. Later the discovery of the [[Solinast]] added greatly to fledgeling nation's power and prosperity and allowed it to forge a great empire of Human states, dominating [[Amethgare]] completely.

At the height of its power Danton was a peaceful and prosperous state, a land of poetry and philosophy that upheld the ideals of [[Solandria]] and [[Mithrilanda]].

When the Solinast was destroyed and [[Sulansis]] rose, Danton was thrown into chaos, beset by treachery and civil strife and finally invaded and conquered by Sulansis' [[Army of Darkness]].

Although Sulansis forces were eventually defeated at the [[Battle of the Stars]], Danton had been occupied for many years and its people and culture were scattered to the winds. The armies of Humanity were too weak to reclaim Danton from the [[Orcs]] who now held it, but this became a moot point when the land itself was burnt away in a huge fire-storm, transforming the once green land into the [[Dragon Desert]] and annihilating its occupiers.

Many remnants of Danton's great culture still persist, centuries after its demise, most notably within the modern kingdom of [[Mantoni]]. The [[Royal Family]] of Mantoni claim direct descent from the Kings of Danton and the [[Royal Orders]] are primarily drawn from the surviving armies of Danton.
