Heavens

The Heavens are a collection of planes towards the edge of Reshomme that are home to the Gods. Each plane in the Heavens belongs to one or more Gods, and all are carefully crafted and maintained with a certain theme in mind. As well as the Gods themselves these planes are also home to the spirits of many devout followers who are drawn there after death rather than returning to the Netherworld.

Typically it is extremely hard or even impossible for a living being or an uninvited spirit to enter any heaven, and this strict border is considered to be one of the principal distinctions between the Heavens and the Fringes - although certain planes in the Fringes are controlled by the Gods and are frequently visited by deities or Angels these planes can be reached by mortals or wandering spirits with relative ease.

Although most, if not all, spirits who dwell amongst the Heavens have left their physical bodies behind to do so heavenly planes typically provide their inhabitants with manifested forms for the duration of their stay - effectively crafting them new bodies from the raw magic of the plane. Thus these planes appear to their inhabitants just as solid and real as any normal world, though in truth the entire plane is in many ways entirely artificial - closer to a type of illusion or simulation than to the more natural planes of the Core or Centre.
